Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream Expands in Alhambra with New Location

Grand Opening April 23; Local Owners to Bring Beloved Heritage to Alhambra

ALHAMBRA, CA, April 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Handel’s Ice Cream, the beloved brand serving handcrafted treats since 1945, is officially expanding its California footprint with its newest location in Alhambra (1127 South Fremont Avenue). Situated near the prominent South Fremont commercial corridor, the shop will celebrate its official Grand Opening on Thursday, April 23.

The Alhambra location is owned and operated by partners Sara Hurley, Kevin Hurley, Alan Hall and Lisa Hall. The group is eager to share their passion for the brand with the local community through this new venture.

“We are thrilled to bring the iconic taste of Handel’s to such a vibrant and diverse community,” said Lisa Hall, Co-Owner of Handel’s Alhambra. “Our goal is to create a space where neighbors can gather and enjoy the same high-quality, handcrafted ice cream that has been a staple for generations”.

The Alhambra location is preparing a celebration filled with community-focused events and prizes. On Grand Opening day, starting at noon, the first 50 people in line will receive a Free Ice Cream Cone card. Additionally, the shop will host a raffle for Free Ice Cream for a Year, with one winner selected every day during the opening weekend from Thursday through Sunday with a qualifying purchase.

Entertainment will be a central part of the festivities to create a memorable destination for local families. A DJ will perform on Friday and Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Families can also enjoy face painting on Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., as well as a special opportunity to meet Bluey from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days.

The scoop shop will feature a rotating selection of 48 flavors, ranging from classic favorites to innovative seasonal creations, as well as pickup and delivery through DoorDash and Uber Eats; the shop also offers catering services. The shop will be open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
